When I was little, my parents would never let me go to shows because they were nervous I would get hurt. I’m pretty sure seeing NOFX for my first show (which wasn’t really a show, but more of a student-run festival/microcosm of Coachella) was not the best “let’s ease you in!” band. :P

I ended up not going to my first “official” show till two years later. I still remember seeing The Go! Team and Bloc Party; I went with my friend D (a grad student at the time) and we stood behind a very flexible, sweaty, shirtless man who kept dancing backwards into me. Mmm.
