I don’t know why I’m so fixated on China Glaze Hey Sailor lately. I think it’s partially because I purchased this last year during one of my first Victoria Nail Supply purchases (in which I also got my first neon polish and OPI Movin’ Out), and I hadn’t worn it since. I’ve been trying to find something other than nail art to use it. Or maybe I recently rekindled my love for Horatio Hornblower. Either way, it just had to be worn!

This is two coats of ChG Hey Sailor, and one coat of Lynnderella One Nutty Fruitcake. I definitely could have gotten away with one coat of the base color, but I suppose I just like wearing two. It’s a habit of mine. For some reason, it looks a little more orange than it should in these photos.

I hadn’t worn this red before because it’s pretty loud. It’s a bright, nautical red that you’ll find in striped shirts and bandanas. And maybe fresh paint on a 74-gun frigate. It’s bright, but not neon bright, though. Additionally, what’s nice about ONF is that the bright blue shimmer still manages to stand out.

It is soooooo shiny with Gelous over it. Application was great on both; Hey Sailor wasn’t too thick or too runny, and ONF’s application was super smooth & reminded me of Lovey Dovey. The smaller glitter polishes from Lynn go on much smoother, and you don’t need to glob on a large drop of polish to get a bunch of glitter onto your nail.

This was always a recommended combination by friends and fellow nail boarders on MUA. I never thought they would go together because colorful glitters like ONF and The Glittering Crowd just stand out so well against black. I am glad I left my comfort zone to try this one out. :)
