I figured I would post an update for everyone since I decided to somewhat drop off the face of the earth for a while…
Well, Miss Fancy Pants Scientist, where the crap have you been?
tl;dr: I’ve been here, being lazy.
Longer story: Most of you know that I had a moderate “lead” on blog posts; meaning, when I wear something, I wear it for more than two or three days. I’ll take pictures when I wear it and post something I wore sometime last week or the past two weeks. Sometimes I’ll swatch things over a weekend to have some more content. Well, my “lead” ran out recently and I couldn’t keep up. I also missed taking photos of some combinations that I wore.
I also was going through some insecurities, mainly in the nail blogging world. I didn’t like any of my swatches, and I was growing tired of my stash. I was working through all my swatched and untried polishes, and I didn’t want it to feel like a chore. I also felt like even though I don’t write a “traditional” nail blog, I didn’t feel like mine was anything special at the time.
Oh, and I’ve been knitting. Yeah. I’ve been sucked in and I can’t stop.
Basically, I’ve been here…just not here.
Will you be posting soon? Or will I have to come to your house and make you blog?
Hopefully! I have quite a few things to show you now; however, the next two months will be pretty busy for me, so I may have to cut down my postings to twice a week for now. My birthday is next week, I will be seeing my parents for Thanksgiving, and I will hopefully (I mean, cross your fingers for me) be moving into a bigger place by the end of the year…one with an office and a project area so I can lay across my polishes like a madwoman. Also away from the light rail because making a U-turn to get out of my place is getting on my damn nerves.
What do you have in store for us that is sooooooo important, that you’re making us wait on the edges of our seats?
Well, I’ve got a few new HAREs to show you, and I just have one more to try out. I have a new bottle of Lucky Numbers from a super awesome friend of mine that I want to try out, and I will definitely be wearing DL Raise Your Glass for my birthday. Said super awesome friend of mine also made some super cute frankens for me, so I will most likely be showing those as well. Maybe I’ll even finally post the RBL I’ve been saving for no good reason. And if I decide to dye my hair, I may even show that. My hair appointment is next Wednesday. I still don’t know yet.
Okay, fine.
I really appreciate all of you sticking around. You know you’ll still find me on Instagram and such. You can see what I’ve been wearing and knitting and eating, which I know makes you happy. I’ll be back soon. <3

<3 I have missed your blog, missy! But I totally understand…I haven't posted on mine for a month now. Nail insecurities with a side of addictive video games took over lol. Well, and recent personal stuff *sigh*. For what it's worth, I think this blog is VERY special, just sayin' ;)

The great thing about being human is that although we are all the same we are all unique at the same time. There are no two alike even when we do, be or say the same thing. In other words your blog is relevant in that it’s yours and you. And though there are a 1000 nail polish blogs out there each one is different because each blogger is unique. Those that follow you do so because your “voice” is what draws and keeps us here. I follow a quite few blogs, nail and otherwise, I’m African American and a lot of the blogs I follow aren’t from AA women/men. So what draws me? Sometimes, I don’t even know BUT I do know it’s that person’s uniqueness. I’m drawn to people who aren’t afraid to be themselves even if it’s being a nerdy scientist who loves her some polish. :O)
So take your time, enjoy your birthday and have fun with your family. :O) We’ll be here when you get back.
heeeeey missy!!!! oh man, i totally know how you feel. i’ve been going through my untrieds and i’ve gotten to a point where it is a chore, and i’m not as excited about nail polish as i used to be.. sometimes i feel like i’m losing my individuality because i browse so many nail blogs and get so sucked up by trends that i stop doing me :( blahhh anyway, i hope you gained some new perspective during your time off, and i hope all goes well with your hair and (possibly) new house!
I’ve missed your posts! But I will patiently wait your return. I definitely know how real life can get in the way of blogging. ^_^
For what it’s worth, I think your swatches are great. Your posts always make me a bit envious of your nails.
